In Kansas and Missouri, the average age for a male to get married is around 27 years old. Compare that to the average age of male same sex couples and that age rises to about 41 years old. According to an article in the New York Times, “ Till Wrinkles Do Us Part ,” both heterosexual and homosexual males are increasingly seeking out medical spa services, not just for brotox, but for other services such as laser sculpting and laser hair removal.

Brotox and Staying in the Dating App Game

With the growing popularity of dating apps like Tinder and Ok Cupid, users base their initial choice of mates on appearance alone. While the demographics of swiping apps for dating are mostly in the millennial, or 25-34 year old age bracket , a significant number of older adults are gravitate towards these apps as well. If an older male or female is attempting to attract the most swipes on these apps, it stands to reason that there is pressure to compete aesthetically with a younger crowd. Maintaining a youthful appearance is equally critical older for males and females. Dating apps could be equalizing the dating field, where affluent older men or women don’t have the edge they might have had if everything depends on a split second glance at your appearance alone.

The Male Lifestyle Trend

Brotox is not a new thing for males in entertainment, as many male celebrities seem to be getting younger over time. Even if your profession doesn’t put you in the public eye, there is nothing worse than being shown up by a younger looking spouse. One female patient’s husband came to PAW for brotox after having someone ask his wife if he was her father!

As females up their game, males are being challenged as well, especially as many new lifestyle brands emerge in fashion, beauty and fitness to capitalize on this trend. Men still wear sweat pants, but only if they are tailored, made of pima cotton and are paired with leather sneakers.
