Invasive Procedures
The more invasive method we use at Plaza Aesthetics and Wellness is the BodyTite system. Considered minimally invasive, it dissolves fat in multiple layers and contours the body using radiofrequency-assisted lipolysis. The radiofrequency dissolves the fat and simultaneously tightens tissue, making this a multimodal approach.
The wand is placed internally into the fat layer of the skin, and it also has an external probe. We then heat the fat up to 68 degrees Celsius and the skin to 38 degrees Celsius which are both measured and monitored by the machine.
Because we are a physician-owned and operated clinic, we can offer pain management options. However, the patient is not going under general anesthesia, so we rely on injectable lidocaine to numb the area and keep our patients comfortable.
Lidocaine is mixed into a large bag of IV fluids, and this solution is used to spread the numbing agent.
Using this approach allows us to protect vital organs and major blood vessels while doing the procedure. We add fluid to the area, and after the site is anesthetized, we make a small incision. From there, we can go into that area with the radiofrequency wand and liposuction cannula.
